Aamir Khan and Kiran Rao have another reason to celebrate as a German distributor has purchased rights to their critically acclaimed film "dhobi Ghat" to get out in classrooms in Germany later this year.
The film was produced by Aamir Khan and distributed by UTV Motion Pictures. The agreement with Rapid Eye movies includes distribution rights in room fees and home video rights free TV film for screening in Germany.
"We are pleased to work with Kiran Rao, making a beautiful and moving film about life in Mumbai and we believe it will touch the heart of the German public, said Stephan Holl of rapid eye movies."
Set in Mumbai, "Dhobi Ghat", which is the first film by Kiran, tells joy, sadness and fun four people who come from different backgrounds and how they deal with.
"It is a special film and we are pleased to announce that the film will now seen by the German public." We are happy to join hands with Rapid Eye movies, which is the ideal partner for this film, said Amrita Pandey, senior Vice President of UTV, international distribution & syndication.
Aamir, who stars in the film, is currently the jury at the Berlin Festival, which ends Sunday.
